Evans Desk: Replica Carlo Mollino Cavor Zanotta Desk

The Evans desk is Maxwell Blake’s stunning tribute to the Zanotta desk by Carlo Mollino - the Cavour writing desk designed in 1949, and made in Italy by Zanotta, established in 1954 and recognized as one of the leaders in Italian industrial design.

Mollino was born in Italy, in 1905, and began his career as an architect but moved into other design disciplines – including furniture and photography – inspired by his eccentric interests such as the occult, women, and fast action-sports like skiing and race car driving. "Everything is permissible as long as it is fantastic," Carlo Mollino once said.

Truly ahead of its time, the contour and combination of materials in the Cavour Desk are testament to Mollino being a remarkable character himself, as well as Zanotta’s products being emblematic for both their formal and technological innovations.

Mollino’s design pieces were mostly commissions and therefore scarce today; our quality reproduction of the Zanotta desk honors the original design, but with a very affordable price tag.

The Maxwell Blake version can be customized to your taste, with the desk frame’s simple but useful design features of draws and compartment available in a number of wood finish options.

The elegant design of this Zanotta desk is still very unique and impressive today, adding a truly stylish modern element to your work space.
