Soho Chairs: Quality Replica Arne Jacobsen Egg Chairs

The soho chair collection is the Maxwell Blake range of reproduction egg chairs, originally designed in 1958 by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen, and made in Denmark.

Born in 1902, Arne Jacobsen was and is an admired and outstanding designer and architect. His egg chairs were created as part of a commission to design every element of the Royal Hotel building in Copenhagen that also included Jacobsen's other well-known furniture designs, the swan sofa and chair.

Made with a patented technology, Jacobsen's egg chairs embraced new materials that allowed him to shape fluid curves in a single-piece molded shell.

A sculptural chair that anticipates the curves of the human form, and is synonymous with modern Danish furniture design, its unique style is as popular now as when first introduced. Not only celebrated in museum collections for over 40 years, egg chairs feature in a number of public spaces today, such as waiting areas and airports, as well as private homes.

Set upon a star-shaped base, the chair frames anybody who sits in it, and swivels to allow additional privacy if desired. It also tilts back for relaxed lounging, especially when combined with the matching ottoman.

Maxwell Blake's Soho chairs and ottomans honor the original Jacobsen design; our quality made and affordable reproductions include a fiberglass shell version, and feature a wide range of fabric and leather upholstery options.

Relax, knowing the egg chair's timeless, modern style is sure to bring you years of enjoyment and seating comfort.
