This is Maxwell Blake's top selling and popular replica Saarinen Executive armchair, with wood legs. Eero Saarinen might be considered by some to be a purist when it came to his approach towards architecture and interior design. He sought the essential idea and reduced it to the most effective structural solution within an overall unity of design. To that end, he designed the Executive Chair in 1957 recognizing the importance of user comfort. Saarinen became the first to construct a chair shell from fiberglass, a pliable material that flexes in response to body weight.

At Maxwell Blake we pay homage to the classic Saarinen design making every effort to produce a chair that is comparable in quality to the original, and with the same level of comfort, yet still at an affordable price. The seat frame is constructed with a molded reinforced polyurethane shell and we use real, steam bent, solid wood legs - not plywood - in your choice of hardwood finish: American Walnut or Natural, Black, or Wenge (espresso) stained Ash wood. Our reproduction Saarinen Executive Armchair features a urethane foam cushion with matching full surround welt detail, and is offered in a wide range of beautiful fabric and leather upholstery options. Maxwell Blake also carries armless versions of the Saarinen Executive chair as well as with classic stainless steel legs, as different items, sold separately. Whether placed as a standalone side chair or grouped around a dining table, this replica Saarinen Executive armchair offers a stylish and affordable seating option that is ideal for the modern home.

Using Your Own Material

What if you don’t find a fabric or leather that works for you? Or, what if you want a completely custom look in your room? Then a "COM" or "COL" fabrics will be your best bet. The acronym "COM" stands for "Customer's Own Material," while "COL" stands for 'Customer's Own Leather."

For a small fee, we can use most Upholstery-grade materials on most upholstered furniture pieces. There are several other things to keep in mind when you select a COM fabric or COL leather for your new furniture. First, be sure to find out the

pattern repeat of your fabric; this information will help the manufacturer figure out how much fabric you will need to send for the furniture pieces you plan to order. Using a fabric with a large repeat will require more fabric in order to match the pattern at the seams on your sofa or chair. You can use this Guideto help determine material yardage required.

Also, keep in mind that using your own fabric or leather will void the material warranty on your furniture and that it is the responsibility of the customer to specify exactly how they wish the material to layover, how to pattern-match and whether or not piping is required. We cannot guarantee the end product will be exactly as you envision it if we are not told exactly how you want it. All COM and COL are non-returnable and non-exchangeable.

Rush Service

Standard custom production requires approximately 10-14 weeks lead time to arrive to have your custom made item ready to deliver. This is because it is produced overseas. However, Maxwell Blake offers a Rush Service whereby your custom order will be produced by our fine fabricators here in New York or, will be shipped from our overseas facility by Air rather than Sea. This cuts the lead time to approximately 2-4 weeks. This will increase the cost of your item and since every piece and circumstance is different we ask that you contact a specialist for a customized quote for needs.

This service will generally reduce the Lead Time often times to just a few weeks. If you are interested in such a service, please contact us through one of the methods below to get detailed cost information for your specific needs. Our knowledgeable and professional staff awaits your call!
